Science and Technology (S&T) Masterplan and Framework

Incorporated in 2020, the NParks' Science & Technology (S&T) Masterplan consolidates overall organisational efforts across diverse areas of research, technology adoption, and digitalisation to advance our City in Nature vision.

These efforts are strategically directed and overseen through 9 distinct workstreams which cover 4 S&T imperatives that represent key focus areas integral to our vision. Ultimately, the Masterplan aims to use scientific evidence to guide us in making informed decisions, and to apply scientific knowledge, in the planning, design and management of Singapore's natural capital.

About the S&T Framework

Approved in July 2020, the S&T Framework guides the execution of the S&T Masterplan. It comprises a series of 4 components interacting in a closed loop:

1. Context and drivers
2. S&T aims
3. Pathway to impact
4. Monitor and improve.

The Framework's overarching strategies seek to:

  • Ensure the S&T Masterplan's relevance as dictated by organisational, national and international context and drivers.
  • Monitor the S&T Masterplan's outcomes so that its execution can be refined or adapted for continual improvement.
