The Society of Chinese Ceramics Studies is proud to present “A Symphony of Colours: Chinese Ceramics from Six Dynasties to Yuan Dynasty”, the third in the series of exhibitions, "Kaleidoscope in Clay". This event is held in collaboration with Peach Blossom Spring, who share the society's interest in promoting the appreciation of Chinese ceramics.
The ceramics showcased cover eleven centuries of art history, reflecting the evolution of ceramics production from its early stages to maturity on both the technological and aesthetics aspects. Chinese ceramics, influenced by the Silk Road and Buddhist arts, met the diverse demands of foreign trade and export. Imperial patronage further elevated the art of ceramics.
The exhibition features a special emphasis on
the white wares of the Xing and Ding kilns, as well as ceramics from kilns in
Yue, Jun, Yaozhou, Longquan, Cizhou, Qingbai, Jian, Jizhou, and other geographical regions
across China.
