About the trails

Hike in and around Dairy Farm Nature Park to discover its rich heritage and biodiversity. There are trails for all ages and fitness abilities.

Recommended trail: Wallace Trail

The 2.2km Wallace Trail stretches from Hillview MRT Station to the Wallace Education Centre. Discover wildlife while uncovering the history of the area. Take a rustic ramble through an old kampung that will bring you up close to fruit trees, butterflies, birds, and streams.

  • Suitable for: Nature lovers, bird enthusiasts and families
  • Difficulty level: Easy to moderate
  • Distance: 2.2km
  • Estimated walking time: Around 1 hour one-way
  • Tips:
    • Wear covered walking shoes and long, comfortable pants and tops.
    • You may want to spray on some insect repellent before you start the trail.
    • Bring along a backpack with a water bottle.
  • The trail is dedicated to English naturalist, Alfred Russel Wallace. Walk in the shoes of a naturalist as you discover flora and fauna along the trail, and check out the unobstructed view of the surrounding secondary forest from the viewing deck.

Keep your eyes peeled for these highlights as you hike:

  • Artefacts: Remnants from kampungs from the past, now almost hidden by plants
  • Dairy Farm Quarry: Rock formations at this quarry filled with earth
  • Plants: Fruit trees including durian, chempedak and coconut, different species of fig trees, as well as the betel plant and wild yams
  • Animals: Including but not limited to the Plantain Squirrel, Common Mormon butterfly, Crimson Sunbird, Olive-winged Bulbul, Greater Racket-tailed Drongo and Asian Glossy Starling
