The beach at East Coast Park, except for areas B and E, is temporarily closed until further notice by the National Environment Agency (NEA) to facilitate oil spill clean-up efforts. The park is still open to visitors.

Pink Mempat tree

During flowering season, the tree crown blooms with faintly fragrant light pink flowers. The caterpillars of the Archduke butterfly love feeding on this tree.
