The 220m floating boardwalk is Singapore’s first floating boardwalk that also serves as a coral habitat and research site. It rises and falls with the tides, allowing visitors to view corals and marine biodiversity up close regardless of the tide level.
The panels attached on the lower sides of the boardwalk provide a suitable habitat for corals and marine biodiversity. They also serve as a coral nursery, facilitating crucial conservation and research efforts.
Moon pools, which are openings along the boardwalk, allow marine scientists to perform research on both naturally established and transplanted corals as well as other marine organisms in a field setting.
