About volunteering with the Reserve

The Sungei Buloh Volunteers in Reserve Service is a group that believes in importance of nature conservation, enjoys working outdoors, and is passionate about sharing their knowledge about the biodiversity in the reserve.

What volunteers do

Volunteers participate in:

Outreach:
- This includes educational programmes such as conducting guided walks and engaging the public in art activities.
Conservation:
- A chance to get involved with reserve maintenance and scientific studies to protect the reserve.
Networking opportunities:
- In addition to receiving training on tour guiding techniques, and how to identify mangrove flora and fauna, volunteers also attend official events and a volunteer recognition ceremony.

Who can volunteer

We seek volunteers with a passion for nature, and who can assist with:

How you can help	Description
Guiding	Conduct guided walks for the public to introduce Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve, its history, flora & fauna and our conservation message
Photography or videography	Photo or video taking for educational matters, publications and events.
Art	Engage the public in art activities centering around nature or wetland themes, such as by holding regular art painting sessions at the reserve.
Publications	Contribute photos or articles for our publication, "Wetlands".
Outreach	This includes: Training new volunteers and partner schools in relevant wetland topics Assisting outreach programmes as guides or mentors Training new staff to guide
Conservation	This includes: Conservation activities such as bird ringing sessions Assisting with community involvement projects Assisting with surveys
Translation	Translate content into different languages
