Hiking and nature walks at Windsor Nature Park

Free of charge

About the trails

Windsor Nature Park is a green buffer for the Central Catchment Nature Reserve and part of the Central Nature Park Network. It has several boardwalks and trails that take you to various zones, terrains and habitats in this conservation area.

View the park map (PDF, 456.3KB) to see the trails.

Refer to the following to find out more about each of them.

Venus Loop is part boardwalk and part natural trail. It provides access to the TreeTop Walk suspension bridge in the Central Catchment Nature Reserve via a 7km moderate to difficult hike.

The boardwalk section of Venus Loop leads you to Hanguana Trail and the start of Squirrel Trail.

You can also choose to proceed onto the Venus Link from Venus Loop where remnants of the kampong house foundation can be seen along the trail.

If you choose to stay on the Venus Loop, the second half continues into a natural trail that makes a loop and leads to Venus Walk. You can continue your hike along Venus Walk or head back to Windsor Nature Park's entrance or carpark.

Both Squirrel Trail and Drongo Trail are boardwalk trails that bring you close to the lush greenery in Windsor Nature Park. As you hike, observe the riparian forest up close without trampling the forest floor vegetation.

Squirrel Trail runs along the stream and allows you to get up close to the freshwater swamp habitat. The end of Squirrel Trail transverses into steps which climb further up a steep forested slope and leads you to Drongo Trail.

Drongo Trail is an elevated boardwalk that goes up to 4m above ground level at its highest point. This lets you experience the forest at the sub-canopy level and spot wildlife from a unique vantage point.

Alternatively, at the end of Squirrel Trail, you may also venture the natural trail of Venus Link. Continuing ahead will lead you to Central Catchment Nature Reserve (MacRitchie)'s MacRitchie Nature Trail and Treetop Walk suspension bridge while looping back will bring you to Venus Loop.

Quick facts

  • Difficulty level: Easy
  • Trail length: 2.2km (loop)
  • Estimated walking time: 1 hour
