The site where the Woodlands Waterfront Jetty is currently located in Woodlands Waterfront Park actually has 5 jetties: Torpedo Jetty, Royal Malaysian Naval Jetty, Woodlands Jetty, Ruthenia Oiling Jetty and Customs Jetty. By 2009, only 2 of the 5 jetties remained.
One of these jetties is the woodlands waterfront jetty. Previously named the Royal Malaysian Naval Jetty, it was used by the Royal Malaysian Navy to serve as a site for formal parades as well as the commissioning of new ships.
The refurbished jetty features old mooring anchors that have been converted into seats for visitors. It also has an old shed, now a restaurant, containing a preserved hoist system which was formerly used to lift and carry heavy loads.
Note
Fishing is only permitted at designated spots. Refer to signs along the jetty for more information and follow fishing etiquette.
