The Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) is a framework international agreement that aims to conserve biodiversity, promote the sustainable use of its components and ensure the sharing of benefits from the use of genetic resources.
Singapore became a party to the CBD in 1995. NParks serves as the national focal point, representing Singapore at the CBD.

As part of our commitment to the CBD, Singapore developed its first National Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan (NBSAP) in 2009 to guide our efforts to conserve biodiversity. This first version was updated in 2019 aligned with the Aichi Biodiversity Targets.
