About the mountain bike trails

Mountain bikers of all experience levels will be thrilled by the 8.2 km mountain biking trail at Chestnut Nature Park, which has sections of varying levels of difficulty. Choose from easy, moderately difficult, very difficult and extremely difficult trails.

The trail is divided into 2 sections:

  • The Northern loop (PDF, 966KB) has a combination of easy to extremely difficult trails. It features the Chestnut Pump Track and the Bike Park.
  • The Southern loop (PDF, 420KB) has moderately difficult and extremely difficult trails.

Chestnut Pump Track

This track consists of a circuit of banked turns and features designed to be ridden by riders via up and down body moments or "pumping". The Chestnut Pump Track caters to riders of all skill levels to practise and advance their riding techniques within a controlled environment.

The pump track is uniquely designed with four subsections: one easy area, two intermediate areas, and a fast bowl that can be ridden collectively as one, when needed. The pump track is best enjoyed with a jump specific hard-tail mountain bike.

Chestnut Bike Park

With advanced features such as drop offs and jumps, Chestnut Bike Park is for seasoned mountain bikers to advance their technical skills. It consists of four progressive skills lines and a skills area. The bike park is best enjoyed with a full suspension mountain bike.

Note

Follow the park dos and don'ts and mountain biking etiquette to ensure an enjoyable experience for everyone.
