Kranji Marshes

One of Singapore's largest freshwater marshes, it is located on the northwestern shore of Kranji Reservoir and is home to an array of plants and animals.
  • Kranji Marshes is protected as part of the Sungei Buloh Nature Park Network. Find out more about nature reserves and parks.
  • The Core Conservation Area is closed to the public (except for activities approved by NParks) as it is an important habitat for the conservation of wetland plants and animals

The park is wheelchair accessible except for Raptor Tower, which only has steps.

  • Do not bring your pets (they are not allowed in the nature park to protect the wildlife).
  • Do not cycle or fly drones.
  • Do apply for a permit at least 2 weeks in advance if you are organising group activities involving at least 30 people.

Look out for various hideout shelters and blinds situated along the trails where you can quietly observe the wildlife, especially birds.

Raptor Tower
Raptor Tower

Located about 15 minutes from the visitor entrance, this 15m-high tower gives a panoramic view of Kranji Marshes and Kranji Reservoir.

Plant and animals


Look out for Black Bazas and Japanese Sparrowhawks during the migratory season from November to March, or local raptors such as the White-bellied Sea Eagle.

Spot elusive marsh birds such as the Common Moorhen, Purple Swamphen, kingfishers, herons and bitterns at the Marsh Station.
