The forest classroom activates children's senses through play and interaction in a lush natural setting, such as by listening to bird calls and sounds of rustling leaves, and spotting fluttering butterflies.

It is also wheelchair accessible, allowing children with diverse needs to better appreciate topics such as biodiversity and conservation.

Edible garden

The edible garden provides a sensory experience for children as they engage with different textures, smells, and tastes.

They can also participate in therapeutic horticulture programmes to learn more about the common herbs and spices that they may interact with in their everyday lives, such as chilli, basil, turmeric and pandan.

Butterfly garden and trellis

Children can observe the vibrant colours and movement of butterflies amongst flowering shrubs such as the Leopard Flower and Lantana.

This allows them to learn about the importance and role of insects in the natural ecosystem.

Natural playscape

The natural playscape provides an interactive and experiential play area for children.

It consists of natural elements such as boulders, tepees, log clusters and wooden balancing beams, some of which are made of upcycled logs from Sembawang Park .

Forest island

The forest island, with its tunnel feature surrounded by lush landscaping, allows children to engage in adventurous free play.

Outdoor fitness stations

The wheelchair-friendly outdoor fitness stations, offer a safe and accessible environment for seniors to exercise amidst lush greenery.

The exercise equipment here includes the ‘muscle warm-up’ and ‘pull-down challenger’ stations.

Gardening space with raised planters

The gardening space provides wheelchair-friendly raised planters for users to engage in gardening activities.

This encourages sensory stimulation and low-intensity physical movements while fostering a connection with nature.

Calming corner

The calming corner is a private spot with timber benches and a water feature, which creates a tranquil environment with pleasing sights and sounds, promoting relaxation while reducing anxiety.

The site also serves as a gathering space for social interaction and connecting with others.
