The Plant Biosecurity and Phytosanitary Services (PBPS) section within the Plant Science and Health (PSH) branch of NParks is responsible for fulfilling the functions of the National Plant Protection Organization (NPPO) to protect plant resources locally and internationally from plant pests.

PBPS oversees the import of plants, plant products and regulated articles while facilitating the trade through the issuance of phytosanitary certificates for export and re-export.

Bringing plants and plant products into Singapore

You must comply with the import requirements of Singapore if you are:

  • Bringing back plants from an overseas vacation.
  • Importing plants via parcel post, courier agent or freight forwarder.

Plant pests and diseases that may come with these plants and plant products could adversely affect the local ecosystems, and our native flora and fauna.
